Some pre-Inaugural thoughts
1) What do you mean, No Catholic clergy praying at the Inaugural? Come on, are you kidding me? You mean to tell me that a majority of my fellow Catholics who sold out the unborn and voted for Obama, are now pushed aside? Let me ask you, how does that make you feel?
Obama did invite an Episcopal bishop that will not mention the name of Jesus at the festivities, and ended up praying to the, “God of our many understandings.” Check out an article with video here.. And of course he invited the leader of a statistically insignificant liberal Protestant denomination. But not a Catholic?
I think we know why. Why suffer the embarrassment of a Pro-life presence, when everyone is on board that it is a Pro-choice world now? Is this a harbinger of things to come?
Rick Warren – all eyes are on you.
2) I am glad that a U.S. District judge rejected the lawsuit by an atheist requesting that “so help me God” from the presidential oath be removed. I wonder if that judge was appointed by Bush.
I must say that the atheist does fully recognize the implications of “so help me God.” The radical notion of the separation of church and state means the separation of religion and state are really two different things. The founding fathers never envisioned a separation of religion and state.
We must remember that our national motto is, “In God We Trust.”
I hope we do.
3) A 170 million? A 170 million? I am sure we all remember liberals whining that Bush’s second Inaugural cost 40 million – what an extravagant amount!
This amount really is an outrage; in a time when our country is at war, going through an economic crisis, and the unemployment rate is at 7% . Where is the thinking in all this? How about moral clarity here?
Of course we know this is hypocrisy – but we must understand that liberals have had a problem with moral clarity.
4) It is interesting that Catholic clergy will not be praying at the Inaugural (I know, I will not let it go), but Michelle Malkin informs us that, “Muslim propagandist Ingrid Mattson will reportedly help lead Barack Obama’s inaugural prayer service tomorrow.
Teensy-weensy problem: She’s tied to Hamas and is president of the Islamic Society of North America — the same group named by federal prosecutors as a co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation jihad-financing case. The defendants in that trial, you will recall, were convicted on all terror-related counts in November.” Read more…
I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.
I encourage all to pray for the new President, and the new Vice President. Please pray that they may lean on our Lord for wisdom, strength to fight for righteousness and justice, and compassion to care for those who are the weakest in our society – and to include the unborn while they are at it.
